In 1837, the melody was composed by Friedrich Silcher to Heinrich Heine's poem of the Loreley (1824). Loreley is named a legendary cliff in the Rhine.

Although the voice in the Sompyler notation is called "piano", it currently does not really sound like one, rather like an accordion. I want yet to work heavily on the instrument definition so it deserves that name.
